Nogueira is expected to be first up to try to earn backup minutes at center due to his experience, but won’t get many chances to prove himself worty, especially if rookie Jakob Poetl proves to be a better option, Josh Lewenberg of TSN Sports reports.Nogueira will need to compete with Poetl in fall camp in order to earn a consistent bench role behind starting center Jonas Valanciunas. In the 20115-16 season, Nogueira appeared in 29 games , averaging 2.2 points and 1.6 rebounds in eight minutes per game.

Nogueira will draw the start in Toronto’s season finale versus the Nets.Nogueria will start at center for the Raptors on Wednesday. He has averaged only 6.8 minutes in the 28 games he has seen action this season. It will be hard to predict his output based on the lack of history to go on, but he should see a relatively heavy workload.
