Player News
April 14, 2016
Antetokounmpo finished with 19 points (7-14 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds, five assists, and one block over 29 minutes in Wednesday’s loss to the Pacers. It was a solid outing for Antetokounmpo in his season finale as the lanky youngster filled out the stat sheet and shot an efficient clip. With news breaking that third-year forward will play point guard and times next season, owners should get used to this balanced performance, especially in the assist department. He’ll be an intriguing asset for next season.
April 9, 2016
Antetokounmpo had 27 points (8-12 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 7-8 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists, one steal, and one block across 27 minutes during the Bucks’ 124-109 loss to the Celtics on Friday.Antetokounmpo did most of his damage early, but he committed five fouls and five turnovers before sitting out the fourth quarter of a blowout loss. Nevertheless, Antetokounmpo has developed into one of the best players in fantasy as the year closes, and Sunday’s showdown with the 76ers should provide the opportunity for him to post yet another triple-double.
April 4, 2016
Antetokounmpo scored a career-high 34 points (14-22 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 5-7 FT) while adding nine assists, five rebounds, a steal and a block in 43 minutes during Sunday’s loss to the Bulls. In addition to the distribution duties that allowed him to average 7.2 assists a game in March, Antetokounmpo was given a bigger scoring role Sunday with Khris Middleton (thigh) sidelined, and he took full advantage. The third-year player has enjoyed a breakout campaign, but Antetokounmpo may still only be scratching the surface of his ultimate upside.
April 2, 2016
Antetokounmpo scored 18 points (5-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 8-11 FT) and added 11 rebounds, 11 assists, three blocks, and two steals across 39 minutes during the Bucks’ 113-110 win over the Magic on Friday.Antetokounmpo is dominating lately with six triple-doubles in the last six weeks. Though the Bucks don’t have a chance to make the playoffs, it seems as if the team is still sprinting to the finish line. As long as he is healthy and suiting up, Antetokounmpo is an obvious, must-start option across all fantasy formats.
March 29, 2016
Bucks coach Jason Kidd said Tuesday that the team intends to keep Antetokounmpo in a primary ball handling role long term, Charles F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. After the All-Star break, the Bucks began using Antetokounmpo as their de facto point guard following a season-ending hip injury to the inconsistent Michael Carter-Williams. Antetokounmpo’s production quickly skyrocketed, and he’s posted averages of 18.5 points, 7.3 assists, and 8.8 rebounds in 20 games since the break; prior to All-Star Weekend, Antetokounmpo was averaging 15.9 points, 2.8 assists, and 7.1 rebounds in 52 games. The massive jump in assists is, of course, the most stark difference, and Antetokounmpo is averaging a triple-double every five games since the break. The problem, though, is the Bucks haven’t shown much improvement as a team since shifting Antetokounmpo on the ball, and it enters Wednesday’s game against the Suns riding a five-game losing streak. Still, declaring Antetokounmpo the team’s point guard going forward offers a sense of direction as the Bucks head into the offseason with a lottery pick and money to spend in free agency.

Date: Jan 3, 2016
Status: OUT
Antetokounmpo chipped his tooth during Saturday’s game, which forced him to miss practice Sunday, C.F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.Antetokounmpo had a dentist appointment Sunday in order to address the issue, and the Bucks are hoping it shouldn’t cost Antetokounmpo any time. It seems likely he’ll be available come Monday’s matchup with the Spurs, but for now he should be considered questionable.
  • Knee
Date: Dec 22, 2015
Status: OUT
Antetokounmpo (knee) is listed as probable for Wednesday’s game against the 76ers, Charles F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. After being held out of Sunday’s win over the Suns due to tendinitis in his left knee, Antetokounmpo completed Tuesday’s practice without incident and looks on track to return. Expect the third-year pro to return to his place in the Bucks’ starting five Wednesday and approach his season average of 33.6 minutes per game.

Antetokounmpo (knee) has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Suns, C.F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.Antetokounmpo is dealing with tendinitis in his left knee and will get the night off for recovery. The injury shouldn’t cost him an extensive amount of time, but consider him questionable for Wednesday’s outing with the 76ers as well. O.J. Mayo will move into the starting lineup in his place.
  • Suspension
Date: Oct 28, 2015
Status: OUT
Antetokounmpo (suspension) will not play in Wednesday’s game against the Knicks. It’s just a reminder for those in daily formats to avoid Antetokounmpo, as he’ll be serving a one-game ban for his flagrant foul on the Bulls’ Mike Dunleavy during the Bucks’ first-round playoff series loss last spring. The Bucks will be a little thin at forward with Jabari Parker (knee) and O.J. Mayo (hamstring) joining Antetokounmpo on the bench. Jerryd Bayless, Chris Copeland, and John Henson should all pick up heavier playing time loads with those players sidelined.

Antetokounmpo turned in his best all-around performance of the preseason Friday against the Timberwolves, finishing with 23 points (8-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 7-8 FT), seven boards, three blocks, and two steals over 33 minutes.Bucks coach Jason Kidd appeared to treat Friday’s contest as a regular-season dress rehearsal, as Antetokounmpo was omitted from the starting lineup, which will be the case when he serves a one-game suspension during Wednesday’s opener versus the Knicks. Kidd deployed Chris Copeland as his starting power forward as a result, but Antetokounmpo still saw his usual allotment of minutes, and seemed to make the most of them. The lengthy, versatile 20-year-old is expected to see time at every position on the court this season, but his primary duties should fall at either forward spot.
  • Suspension
Date: Oct 21, 2015
Status: OUT
Antetokounmpo (suspension) could see most of his time at power forward early in the season if Jabari Parker (knee) is unable to play, Charles F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.Antetokounmpo started at the four spot in Tuesday’s exhibition against the Timberwolves, with Michael Carter-Williams, O.J. Mayo, Khris Middleton, and Greg Monroe filling out the rest of the lineup. Once Parker returns, Mayo would likely head back to a bench role, allowing Antetokounmpo to settle in at either the shooting guard or small forward spot. Regardless of where he plays, Antetokounmpo’s considerable length and speed and increasing bulk should make him a cornerstone of the Bucks’ offensive and defensive efforts, so don’t expect any noticeable downgrade or upgrade in his fantasy value as a result. Antetokounmpo will be suspended for the first game of the regular season, but is slated to make his debut Oct. 30 against the Wizards.

Antetokounmpo sat out of practice with an illness Friday and is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Wizards, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. It looks like a flu bug may have hit the Bucks, as both Antetokounmpo and Damien Inglis had to sit out Friday. While Inglis has been ruled out for Saturday, Antetokounmpo still may play, so consider him questionable at this point in time. If he doesn’t play Saturday, his next opportunity to return will be Tuesday against the Timberwolves.

Antetokounmpo (rest) will not play Tuesday against the Cavaliers, CF Gardner of the Journal Sentinel reports. The Bucks will hold Antetokounmpo out, while the Cavaliers will do the same with LeBron James. Jason Kidd has already announced that second-year forward Damien Inglis, who missed all of last season due to injury, will get the starting nod in Antetokounmpo’s place.

Antetokounmpo is looking to add the three-point shot to his Arsenal this season, Charles F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.Antetokounmpo is coming off of a 10-for-28 three-point performance for Greece in the EuroBasket 2015 Tournament. An increase in that department would have a significant impact in his fantasy stock after only making seven all of last season. While he will likely put up more three-point attempts this year, head coach Jason Kidd reminds us to temper our expectations, “He doesn’t have to be a guy who just shoots perimeter jump shots. He can get to the basket, get to the free throw line and make plays for his teammates.” Overall, expect the 20-year-old Antetokounmpo to continue to grow and expand his game this season.
  • Coach’s Decision
Date: Apr 10, 2015
Status: OUT
Antetokounmpo will return to the starting lineup Friday against the Knicks, Ian Begley of ESPN reports.Antetokounmpo was held out of Wednesday’s loss to the Cavaliers, and Jason Kidd never provided a clear explanation for the absence. He said that it was not a disciplinary issue, but he also failed to clarify whether it was simply a rest day. Regardless, Antetokounmpo is back in the starting lineup Friday, meaning Jared Dudley will shift back to the bench.

Status: OUT
Antetokounmpo is expected to play Friday, CF Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.Jason Kidd held Antetokounmpo under strange circumstances Wednesday, telling the media it was a “coach’s decision” but declining to provide a reason. Antetokounmpo (coach’s decision) will not play Wednesday against Cleveland, Dan Devine of Yahoo! Sports reports. It was initially reported that Antetokounmpo would be available off the bench after Jared Dudley was given the nod at small forward. Devine reported that “this is a coaching decision. That’s all we know,” at this point. Antetokounmpo’s next chance to play will be Friday against the Knicks.

Antetokounmpo will come off the bench Wednesday against Cleveland, CF Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.Jason Kidd downplayed the move during pregame media availability, stating that he’s “just making a change.” It’s unlikely that Antetokounmpo’s workload is drastically impacted, though this situation is certainly something to keep an eye on, particularly given the strides Antetokounmpo has made in his second NBA season.

Antetokounmpo’s (ankle) injury isn’t considered serious, and he could return as soon as in Thursday’s game against the Kings, the Racine Journal Times reports.Owners can take a huge breath of relief at this news, as it appears Antetokounmpo won’t be missing too many (if any) games with his ankle sprain. With rookie Jabari Parker (knee) deemed out for the season, Antetokounmpo will have a chance to shine. He hasn’t gotten his act together quite yet this season, averaging just 12.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks per game. However, with heavy minutes and a high usage rate, he has the potential to produce solid fantasy lines.

Antetokounmpo (ankle) is listed as questionable to play Thursday in Sacramento, Andrew Gruman of Fox Sports Wisconsin reports.Antetokounmpo went down with a scary ankle injury Wednesday against the Blazers, rolling his ankle without contact on a drive to the hoop and crashing to the floor without much bracing. While it initially appeared to much more serious, Antetokounmpo was able to limp off on his own power and reportedly wanted to return to the game but was persuaded not to do so by the team’s medical staff. The official diagnosis is just a sprain, though Antetokounmpo is likely dealing with considerable swelling. He’ll test it out during warmups, at which point an official decision on his status will be made.
