Bazemore agreed to a four-year, $70 million deal with the Hawks on Friday, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reports. One of the sneakily more prized free agents in this year’s class, Bazemore was so prized by the Hawks that they were willing to sign him and Dwight Howard instead of re-signing Al Horford, who will now head elsewhere. He will start on the wing for the Hawks next season alongside Kyle Korver and Paul Millsap, and should be a solid all-around contributor, especially on the defensive side. Bazemore has a player option on the fourth year of the deal, according to The Vertical’s Shams Charania.
May 2, 2016
Bazemore filled the stat sheet with 16 points (6-14 FG, 1-2 FT, 3-10 3Pt), 14 rebounds, four assists and to steals in 36 minutes during Monday’s series-opener versus the Cavs. The swingman played well versus Boston in the first round, but he took his game to a new level Monday, notching his first double-double of the postseason. Bazemore should receive all the minutes he can handle in this series as a primary defensive option versus LeBron James, and he is more than capable of producing across the board in expanded playing time.
April 29, 2016
Bazemore contributed 15 points (6-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-4 FT), four rebounds, three assists and two blocks over 32 minutes in Thursday’s 104-92 series-clinching victory over the Celtics.Although he was listed on the injury report with a probable designation due to a knee injury for most of the series, Bazemore took the court in each game and hit double-digit scoring in four of six games. He also drained multiple threes in three contests, and was particularly proficient on the glass in Games 1-4. The four-year pro averaged 8.25 rebounds over that span, and generally provided valuable contributions across the stat sheet throughout all six games. The 26-year-old will need to step up his game even more in the second round, when Bazemore figures to draw a heavy dose of LeBron James on both ends of the floor.
April 27, 2016
Bazemore (knee) scored 16 points (6-14 FG, 4-9 3Pt) to go with five rebounds and one block in 23 minutes during the Hawks’ 110-83 Game 5 win over the Celtics on Tuesday.Bazemore was cleared from the Hawks’ injury report prior to Game 5, and he certainly looked spry during his time on the court. While Bazemore did see his fewest minutes of the series, he wasn’t needed beyond what he played since the Hawks won by a comfortable margin. Assuming that the Celtics put up a better fight at home in Game 6, expect Bazemore to receive more playing time as the Hawks look to close out the series on the road.
April 26, 2016
Bazemore (knee) has been cleared from the Hawks’ injury report and will play in Tuesday’s Game 5 against the Celtics, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. As expected, Bazemore will be available to start for the Hawks after being taken off the injury report. Expect Bazemore, who is averaging 13.3 points (on 33.9% shooting from the field), 8.3 rebounds, two assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.3 three-pointers in 34.3 minutes over the first four games of the series, to again take on a healthy dose of minutes.

Bazemore (knee) is considered probable to play in Tuesday’s Game 5 against the Celtics, Chris Vivlamore of the Journal-Constitution reports.Bazemore has maintained the same designation for each of the previous four games of the series, so his status does not appear to be in much, if any, jeopardy as Tuesday’s matchup approaches. Expect Bazemore, who played a series-high 40 minutes in Game 4, to be available in his usual capacity as the Hawks look to re-take control of the series.

Bazemore is considered probable for Sunday’s Game 4 against the Celtics due to right knee stiffness, KL Chouinard of Hawks.com reports.Bazemore carried the same designation into Game 3 and scored 20 points in 34 minutes, so his status doesn’t appear to be in much jeopardy. Barring a setback, expect him to be available in his usual capacity Sunday.
  • Knee
Date: Apr 23, 2016
Status: OUT
Bazemore (knee) tallied 20 points (8-19 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 2-3 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 34 minutes during the Hawks’ 111-103 loss to the Celtics on Friday.Bazemore has been listed as probable going into every game this postseason due to knee soreness. However, he continues to provide solid overall stats while rebounding the ball at an elite level as far as perimeter players go. So long as his knee holds up, Bazemore seems likely to keep playing heavy minutes for a Hawks team lacking much depth at wing.

Status: OUT
Bazemore (knee) is considered probable to play in Friday’s Game 3 against the Celtics, KL Chouinard of Hawks.com reports.Bazemore has maintained the same probable designation since the start of the series, but his availability has never been in serious jeopardy. The swingman is simply dealing with some soreness in his right knee, which at this point doesn’t appear to be worsening game-to-game. After a big Game 1 in which he posted 23 points (7-13 FG, 8-10 FT) and eight rebounds, Bazemore finished with only five points on 2-of-14 shooting in the Hawks’ Game 2 win Tuesday.

Bazemore is dealing with right knee stiffness and is probable for Saturday, Atlanta Hawks’ writer KL Chouinard reports. It seems unlikely that Bazemore would miss Game 1 of the first round of the playoffs, but a final decision will likely be made after the team goes through shootaround on Saturday morning. He could see his minutes monitored because of the injury, in which case look for Thabo Sefolosha and Lamar Patterson to see increased action.

Bazemore (knee) is considered questionable for Saturday’s game against the Celtics, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.Coach Mike Budenholzer told the media that he’s “hopeful” Bazemore will return, but at this point the Old Dominion product may be trending toward a game-time decision. In his last outing against Phoenix on Thursday, Bazemore put up 17 points to go with nine rebounds and five assists.

Bazemore (knee) has been ruled out for Thursday’s game against the Raptors, Chris Vivlamore of the AJC reports.Despite being listed as probable earlier Thursday due to some stiffness in his right knee, Bazemore has been downgraded to out for the Hawks’ matchup with the Raptors. According to Vivlamore, the Hawks have not decided at this point who will move into the starting lineup in place of Bazemore. Thabo Sefolosha would be a logical replacement for Bazemore at small forward, but coach Mike Budenholzer could use Tim Hardaway Jr. to get a three guard lineup in the works as well. Bazemore’s next chance to return will come Saturday against the Celtics.

Bazemore (ankle) has been upgraded to questionable for Friday’s game against the Grizzlies, the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Chris Vivlamore reports. He has missed five games with the ankle injury, but when he plays, Bazemore can be pretty useful for fantasy, as he can produce points and three-pointers thanks to a steady amount of playing time. Thabo Sefolosha would pick up the slack once again if Bazemore cannot go Friday.

Bazemore (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday’s game against the Timberwolves, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. It’s not surprising that Bazemore will sit out, as the Hawks didn’t hold morning shootaround Wednesday following Tuesday’s win over the Celtics, depriving the swingman of an opportunity to demonstrate that he’s healthy. He’ll sit out a fifth straight game Wednesday, with Thabo Sefolosha likely to continue starting at small forward in his place.

His status will be something to continue monitoring.

Bazemore (ankle) didn’t practice Monday, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.Bazemore continues to nurse the ankle injury that’s kept him out of the Hawks’ last three games, and coach Mike Budenholzer said there’s a chance Bazemore could miss a fourth straight game Tuesday. A final call won’t come until the team can evaluate Bazemore at shootaround, however. Atlanta has dropped four of its last five overall while Bazemore and Jeff Teague (ankle) have been banged up, falling back to fifth place in the Eastern Conference at 9-6 as of Monday.

Bazemore has been ruled out of Saturday’s game against the Cavaliers, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.Bazemore will miss his third straight game after spraining his ankle against the Jazz on Sunday. Considering that the Hawks are ruling him out a day in advance, Bazemore may be further away from returning then originally believed, although he’ll remain listed as questionable ahead of Tuesday’s matchup with the Celtics. With Jeff Teague’s status still up in the air for Saturday, the Hawks maybe forced to lean heavily on the likes of Dennis Schroder, Kyle Korver, Justin Holiday, and Thabo Sefolosha to eat up minutes in the backcourt.
