Andersen has agreed to a one-year deal with Cleveland, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reports.Andersen played two years with LeBron James in Miami, so it is not a huge surprise to see the 38-year old veteran join him in Cleveland. While he will likely take over the reserve center spot in the rotation left by Timofey Mozgov, he will have a hard time finding consistent minutes in the rotation. Andersen saw just 5.1 minutes per game in Miami last season before being traded to Memphis. He saw a relatively large jump in workload for the Grizzlies; posting 4.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 0.7 steals, and 0.5 blocks in 18.3 minutes per game.

April 24, 2016
Andersen scored seven points (1-5 FG, 5-8 FT) and pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds while adding two assists, a steal and a block in 24 minutes during Sunday’s loss to the Spurs. The Birdman brought his typical energy Sunday, as he saw some extra minutes after San Antonio effectively put the game away with a big third quarter. Andersen averaged 7.8 rebounds in 19.8 minutes per game during the series, serving as one of the only available frontcourt options for the Grizz. He will be a free agent this summer, and there has been no indication as to whether or not Memphis intends to bring him back.

Andersen will not start Friday’s Game 3 against the Spurs, Rob Fischer of Sport 56 WBHQ reports. The big man added four points and eight rebounds in 24 minutes during Game 2, but his move out of the starting lineup will likely result in fewer minutes and potentially less production as well. The Grizzlies will go the smaller route with their lineup Friday, shifting Zach Randolph to center while bumping Tony Allen into the starting five.

Andersen had four points (2-2 FG) and eight rebounds in 24 minutes during the Grizzlies’ 94-68 loss to the Spurs on Tuesday.Through the first two playoff games, Anderson has pulled down 17 rebounds in 41 minutes, but the Grizzlies have been blown out of the water in both contests. The 37-year-old played solid defense against San Antonio’s Tim Duncan, who scored only three points Tuesday, but the Spurs’ defense is just on a whole other level. Anderson has never been a primetime scorer, and he should not be expected to breakout offensively in this series, but he is capable of boxing out and hauling in boards.

|
April 13, 2016
Andersen had eight points (4-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt), five rebounds, and two steals across 21 minutes during the Grizzlies’ 110-84 loss to the Clippers on Tuesday.Anderson has eclipsed 20 minutes in six of the last 10 games. However, he is posting just 4.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.2 steals in 19 minutes through six April affairs. The Grizzlies take on the Warriors in Wednesday’s regular season finale, and Anderson totaled six points, four rebounds, two steals, and one dime in 14 minutes versus Golden State this past Saturday.

Andersen (shoulder) is expected to play Tuesday against the Lakers, Ronald Tillery of the Memphis Commercial Appeal reports. The Grizzlies relayed a few days earlier that Andersen would return at some point this week, and with the team not electing to re-sign Alex Stepheson after his 10-day contract expired, it looks likely that Birdman is ready to go. Andersen missed nine games while recovering a left shoulder subluxation, so he could be eased back into the mix if he does indeed play Tuesday. Once 100 percent healthy, however, Andersen figures to displace Ryan Hollins as the Grizzlies’ starter at center, though he’ll rarely see much more than 20 minutes per outing.

Andersen (shoulder) is progressing in his recovery and is expected to return to the court at some point this week. It’s a rare bit of good news for the Grizzlies, who have seen their frontcourt in particular suffer significant losses due to injury since the All-Star break. Zach Randolph (knee) has since returned to action to reclaim the starting power forward spot, and Andersen figures to displace Ryan Hollins as the starting center once he’s deemed ready to play again. Prior to suffering the left shoulder subluxation, Andersen typically saw his playing time capped around the 20-minute mark, so he’ll likely have to share the load a bit at center with Hollins, JaMychal Green, and Jarell Martin upon getting back on the court.

Andersen (shoulder) is considered out indefinitely, Marc Spears of Yahoo! Andersen (shoulder) will not play in either of the Grizzlies’ next two games, Kevin Lipe of the Memphis Flyer reports.Andersen departed Sunday’s game with a left shoulder injury, and the team has ruled him out Monday against the Cavs, with the plan being to evaluate him in 3-to-5 days. That means he’ll also miss Wednesday’s matchup with the Celtics before potentially returning for Friday’s date with the Pelicans. Andersen (knee) was traded from the Heat to the Grizzlies on Tuesday as part of a three-team deal that also includes the Hornets, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports.Courtney Lee is the key piece on the move, as he’ll head to the Hornets, while the Grizzlies receive P.J. Hairston and two future second-round picks from the Hornets, as well as Andersen and a pair of second-round picks — one of which is heavily protected — from Miami. Brian Roberts will head from the Hornets to the Heat to complete the trade. Andersen is likely just a throw-in in the deal that will create salary relief for the Heat, as he’s appeared in only seven contests this season, logging fewer than 40 total minutes. That said, the 37-year-old saw nearly 20 minutes per game across 60 contests last season, and the Grizzlies are desperate for help at center following Marc Gasol’s likely season-ending foot injury, so it’s possible Andersen could see a larger role in his new destination.

Andersen (knee) will not play in Tuesday’s game against the Spurs.Andersen hasn’t played a game since mid-January, as he continues to work his way back from soreness in his knee. A concrete timetable for a return has yet to be established, so it remains unclear when he’ll be available next. Even when back to full health, Andersen isn’t expected to have a significant role in the Heat’s regular rotation, so his fantasy value remains severely limited.

Andersen (knee) won’t travel with the Heat during their five-game road trip that kicks off Wednesday against the Wizards, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.Andersen continues to deal with some soreness in his left knee, and the Heat decided it was in the veteran’s best interest to take the next week-plus off to rest. The Heat will be without the services of Andersen, Goran Dragic (calf), Beno Udrih (neck), and Josh McRoberts (knee) on Wednesday, but Birdman’s absence is the least of the team’s concerns. Instead, it seems that the 37-year-old has simply declined to the point that he no longer warrants regular run off the bench, as he’s appeared in just three of the Heat’s 25 games.
