Lee agreed to a four-year, $50 million contract with the Knicks on Saturday, Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders reports. It’s been a busy offseason for the Knicks, who’ve already traded for Derrick Rose and signed Joakim Noah. Lee is yet another addition for the Knicks, who have quickly revamped their roster in attempts to improve from their lackluster play the past few years. Lee figures to start in place of Arron Afflalo, who left the team to sign with the Kings. Last season, Lee averaged 9.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists while playing 29.5 minutes per contest.
April 26, 2016
Lee tallied 11 points (3-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, one steal, and one block across 42 minutes in Monday’s 89-85 Game 4 win over the Heat.Lee has played exactly 42 minutes in each of the past three games of the series, as the early exit of Nicolas Batum (ankle) in Game 2 and his absences for Game 3 and 4 have opened up some more playing time for the team’s other guards. Unfortunately for Lee, the added court time hasn’t resulted in a noticeable jolt in his production, as the 30-year-old often remains a fourth or fifth option offensively when he’s on the floor. His strong defense should continue to afford him plenty of playing time, but it doesn’t figure to translate to meaningful fantasy production.
April 12, 2016
Lee recorded five points, three rebounds and two assists in Monday’s 114-100 win over the Celtics.Lee failed to reach double-digit points for the fourth straight game. The 30-year-old averaged 10.1 points last year in Memphis, but he has only scored in double-digits 10 times since being acquired by the Hornets in February.
March 27, 2016
Lee registered 12 points (5-9 FG, 2-4 3Pt), five assists, four rebounds and a block over 35 minutes in Saturday’s 115-91 win over the Bucks.Normally a highly scoring-dependent two-guard, Lee filled out the stat sheet nicely Saturday. The five dimes equaled the season high he’d set on Mar. 16 versus the Magic, and his scoring total marked his return to double-digit points after tallying single digits in four of the previous six contests. While Lee’s fantasy upside is capped due to his role in the Hornets’ attack, he serves as a modest source of scoring and three-pointers in all formats.
March 22, 2016
Lee tallied 17 points (8-13 FG, 1-2 3Pt), four steals, two assists, and two rebounds over 33 minutes in Monday’s 91-88 win over the Spurs. With Kemba Walker struggled to a 2-for-11 mark from the field on the evening, Lee stepped up to help lead the Hornets to improbable comeback victory. Though he rarely posts explosive scoring nights as a secondary option on offense, Lee has been a consistent part of the Hornets’ attack of late after struggling to integrate himself initially upon coming over from the Grizzlies at the trade deadline. He’s scored in double figures in six of the last eight games and is averaging 12.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.6 three-pointers, and 1.1 steals over 31 minutes during that span.

Lee underwent a physical Thursday that forced him to miss practice time, and he’ll be held out of Friday’s game against the Bucks as a result, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.Lee, who was traded to the Hornets on Tuesday, will have to wait until Sunday against the Nets to make his team debut. He’s expected to start right away at shooting guard, but for at least Friday’s game, the Hornets will likely have to deploy Jeremy Lin or Jeremy Lamb in that role.
