Korver tallied 18 points (6-11 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, and one block across 32 minutes in Friday’s 121-108 Game 3 loss to the Cavaliers.Despite coming off the bench for the first time this season, Korver turned in his best game of the series and didn’t lose out on any minutes. Though the Hawks ended up dropping the contest to fall into a 3-0 series deficit, they were much more competitive Friday than in Wednesday’s blowout loss in Game 2, and even led by six points heading into fourth quarter before the Cavs came through with clutch three-point shooting down the stretch. As a result of the Hawks’ relative success, it wouldn’t be surprising if Korver served in a reserve role again in Sunday’s Game 4.

G Kyle Korver came off the bench to add 18 points for the Hawks Friday.
May 6, 2016
Korver will come off the bench for Friday’s Game 3 against the Cavaliers, Joe Gabriele of Cavs.com reports.Korver played and started in 80 regular season games, as well as every game of the playoffs thus far. He will come off of the bench for the first time in Game 3, as the Hawks have opted to go with Thabo Sefolosha at the two-guard. Korver really struggled in Games 1 and 2, going a combined 3-for-8 shooting, and posting 5.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 0.5 assists, and just 0.5 triples in 28.1 minutes. If the Hawks play well with this new lineup it may not bode well for Korver’s minutes going forward this series.
May 4, 2016
G Kyle Korver was held to just two 3-point attempts Wednesday and has hoisted just three 3-point tries over the first two games of the series. He scored seven points Wednesday after he was held to three points (all from the free-throw line) in Game 1.
April 29, 2016
Korver tallied 14 points (4-4 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal over 36 minutes in Thursday’s 104-92 series-clinching victory over the Celtics. After a rather mediocre regular season in which he only averaged 9.2 points, the veteran sharpshooter came alive in the first-round series versus Boston. Korver managed double-digit scoring in the last five games, and was a valuable contributor on the glass as well. He hauled in seven to nine rebounds in four of the six contests against the Celtics, and was solid on the defensive end overall. Avery Bradley’s early exit from the series likely played a pivotal role in some of Korver’s offensive success, but he’ll have to keep the momentum going in a tough matchup versus J.R. Smith and the Cavs in the second round.

Korver (ankle) will not play Wednesday against Brooklyn. After playing 34 minutes Tuesday against Miami and 31 minutes Sunday versus Charlotte, Korver will get the night off Wednesday as the Hawks finish out a back-to-back set. While Atlanta has not formally announced plans to rest Korver, he’ll now have been held out of one half of both of the Hawks’ back-to-backs thus far, and it’s unclear how long that trend could continue. Korver is off to a rough start to the season, by his standards, and he’s made just one of his last 10 three-point attempts.

Korver (ankle) is listed as probable for Tuesday’s game at Miami, KL Chouinard of the Hawks’ official site reports.Korver will receive the night off on occasion as a part of his ankle rehab program, but his potential availability Tuesday implies that he’s expected to play. With a back-to-back on tap, though, the potential exists for the wing to sit out either Tuesday or Wednesday. The sharpshooting forward seems to be nearly fully recovered from offseason surgery on his ankle and elbow, after the former injury kept him out of the last two games of the Eastern Conference Finals. All signs point to Korver being available for the start of the season in late October, so the pair of offseason procedures shouldn’t impact his draft standing.

The date of the upcoming evaluation is unknown, but the Hawks are likely waiting for any swelling to diminish before making the call on a procedure.
