Millsap scored 19 points (5-12 FG, 8-11 FT, 1-4 3Pt) and added nine rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block in a team-high 41 minutes during Sunday’s Game 4 loss to the Cavs. The All-Star made a solid effort to take the ball inside and get to the foul line, but his measly 12 shot attempts were likely fewer than Atlanta would have liked from their top scorer. Millsap averaged a versatile 17.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.5 steals per game versus the Cavs and should be a sought-after fantasy asset once again in 2016/17.
May 5, 2016
Millsap mustered up 16 points (4-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 7-8 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block across 27 minutes during the Hawks’ 123-98 loss to the Cavaliers in Wednesday’s Game 2.Millsap was the only Hawks starter to shoot 50 percent or better from the field. However, the Hawks’ main problem was on defense, where the team allowed the Cavs to drain a NBA postseason-record 25 three-pointers on the night. It seems that Millsap will have to play the best basketball of his life for the Hawks to compete with the Cavaliers, and Friday’s Game 3 in Atlanta is essentially a must-win matchup since no NBA team has ever overcome a 3-0 series deficit.

May 2, 2016
Millsap scored 17 points (6-19 FG, 3-8 FT, 0-3 3Pt) and grabbed 13 rebounds while adding four blocks, three assists and two steals in 40 minutes during Monday’s Game 1 loss to Cleveland. The All-Star struggled with his outside shot, but he notched his second double-double of the postseason and was stellar on the defensive end. Millsap’s shot should eventually fall, but he retains value even when he struggles in that regard due to the well-rounded nature of his game.

Millsap (rest) will not play in Tuesday’s game against the Sixers, the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Chris Vivlamore reports. This could be a very annoying omen, as coach Mike Budenholzer comes from the Gregg Popovich coaching tree and likely enjoys the idea of sitting his best players in games like this where the Hawks should be able to win without the star power forward. Mike Muscala will get the start with Millsap out. The major concern here is that Budenholzer could opt to do this again the next time the Hawks face a back-to-back set.
