Muscala tallied two rebounds over six minutes in Monday’s 104-93 Game 1 loss to the Cavaliers.Muscala has played in all seven of the Hawks’ postseason games to date, but hasn’t seen more than 14 minutes in any contest. He’ll continue to serve as the Hawks’ fourth big man, but don’t expect him to see elevated court time unless either Paul Millsap or Al Horford succumb to an injury.

Muscala missed the Hawks’ last two practices for personal reasons, but is expected to be available for Tuesday’s game against the Suns, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.Muscala has only been a bit player in the Hawks’ rotation of late, appearing in nine of the team’s last 15 games while averaging just 2.1 points and 0.8 rebounds over 4.6 minutes. He looks to be the fifth big man on the depth chart behind starters Paul Millsap and Al Horford and top reserves Kris Humphries and Mike Scott.
February 12, 2016
Muscala is averaging 6.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and .5 blocks over 15.3 minutes in February.Although Muscala is averaging double-digit minutes on the season and has played in 40 games, he has still been a fringe rotational player for much of the first half of the season. That said, with Tiago Splitter contemplating hip surgery, Muscala could certainly be in position to continue to see similar minutes to what he has thus far in February.
January 19, 2016
Muscala played six minutes in Monday’s 98-81 win over the Magic. He finished with two points (1-2 FG), two rebounds, and one assist in six minutes.Muscala has appeared in nine of the Hawks’ last 15 games and hasn’t played more than 10 minutes in any of those contests. As the fifth big man on the depth chart behind Al Horford, Paul Millsap, Mike Scott, and Tiago Splitter, Muscala doesn’t stand to see his role grow as the season rages on.

Muscala split time between the NBA and D-League this season. He averaged 4.9 points, 0.2 three-pointers, 3.0 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.5 blocks, and 0.4 steals in 13 minutes per game through 40 games with the Hawks in 2014-15.The 23-year-old, who finished his second year in the NBA, will be under team control through 2016-17. Muscala underwent surgery on his nose Wednesday, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.Muscala relayed before the procedure that he likely suffered a number of broken noses previously. As his offseason continues, he’s subject to a team option to remain with the Hawks, which they should pick up due to its cheap $947K price tag. After logging time in 40 regular-season games last season, he picked up the pace in the playoffs, with appearances in each of the final nine contests. During that span, he averaged 4.2 points (on 60 percent shooting) and 1.8 rebounds in 11 minutes.
