According to CBC's Jeff Marek, the Canadiens have signed goalie Carey Price to a two-year contract extension.
Rototimes View: With Antti Niemi now a Shark, the Habs didn't really have any other option. In 41 games (39 starts) a season ago, he posted a 13-20-5 record to go along with a .912 save percentage. |

Antti Niemi has signed a 1-year deal to move from the team with the 2nd best record in the Western Conference (the Blackahwks) to the team with the best (the Sharks), according to the San Jose Sharks Official website.
Rototimes View: Niemi will battle Antero Niittymaki for time in net with the Sharks who are looking to replace Evgeni Nabokov who decided to finish his playing career in the KHL. Niemi figures to have the upper hand in net over Niittymaki, but who performs better will likely be the determining factor in who is on the ice the majority of the time for the Sharks. |
