Newsbreakers
Mark Brunell, QBWednesday 7/28, 5:01 PM CT
After months of speculation, the Jets have finally signed journeyman quarterback Mark Brunell, according to NFL.com's Jason La Canfora. He will back-up Mark Sanchez in 2010.

Our View:A Super Bowl winner with the Saints last season, Brunell was prevented from signing with the Jets until now due to this offseason's complicated free agency rules. 39 years old, he has thrown just 30 passes since the end of the 2006 season.
Aaron Glenn, CBTuesday 7/27, 7:39 PM CT
Aaron Glenn will retire as a Texan after signing a one-day contract with Houston, according to Nick Scurfield of the team's web site.

Our View:Glenn finishes with 41 picks over 205 career games, most of which were spent with the Jets. Still, he chose to retire with his hometown team after making the Pro Bowl three times in a 15-year career.
Charles Brown, TMonday 7/26, 4:37 PM CT
The Saints have signed second round draft pick Charles Brown, according to NBC Sports' Gregg Rosenthal.

Our View:An offensive tackle out of USC, he is expected to contribute during his rookie season. It bodes well for his prospects that he has signed before the beginning of Saints training camp.
