In a recent interview with USA Today, Brett Favre stated that he believed his career was over after his ankle injury in the NFC Championship game.

RotoTimes.com: Favre has obviously since changed his mind and continues to mull over whether or not to play another season, as opposed to simply announcing his retirement. Favre had a few telling things to say in the interview, one being that he felt like he owed the Vikings players another season and that he hadn't felt that way about anyone in a long time: sorry Packers fans. Favre also joked about playing football until he's 50. As it's stood for the past month, we'd be shocked if he didn't come back to play this season.

Vikings coach Brad Childress said that Brett Favre (ankle) only needs 2-to-3 weeks of preparation to be ready for the season, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

RotoTimes.com: Favre still hasn't made his decision, but it sounds like the Vikings are again willing to let him come aboard midway through the preseason. For now, Tarvaris Jackson is working as the No. 1 quarterback with Sage Rosenfels at No. 2 and Joe Webb at No. 3, but you can expect each to move one slot down on the depth chart if Favre announces his comeback.

According to Vikings head coach Brad Childress, things were "all quiet" on the Brett Favre front on Friday, reports the Associated Press.

RotoTimes.com: Vikings training camp begins a week from this Friday. Don't expect Favre's mind to be made up by then.

Brett Favre told WDAM-TV in Hattiesburg on Wednesday that he's gained 14 pounds since January.

RotoTimes.com: Well someone call CNN. Favre might just enjoy the fact that the nation listens to his personal weight gain reports, but it also makes some sense that he would gain weight during the offseason while rehabbing his surgically repaired ankle. Still, he certainly appears ready to play one more season

Brett Favre may not report to Vikings training camp until August 13, and may not play in a preseason game until August 28, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

RotoTimes.com: That is, of course, if he returns at all. The overwhelming smart money is still on him playing for a 20th NFL season in 2010, though something does feel a litte bit different this time around, as Favre appears to be actually conflicted about his health. If he does indeed decide to retire, you can credit/blame it on New Orleans' rough and tumble defense from last January's NFC Championship game.
