The Timberwolves have no plans to trade the rights to young guard Ricky Rubio, according to Hoopsworld.com.

RotoTimes.com: Rubio has never seemed inclined to play in Minnesota, but it looks like he will have to if he wants to step foot on an NBA court anytime in the next few seasons. Things can always change, but Minnesota GM David Kahn seems steadfast in his stance.

According to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, there seems to be very little doubt that the Minnesota Timberwolves plan to trade the rights to Spanish point guard Ricky Rubio. Rubio was selected fifth overall by the team in this year's draft.

RotoTimes.com: Rubio doesn't really want to play in Minnesota, and the T-Wolves looks set at point guard with rookie Johnny Flynn and free agent Ramon Sessions. It will be interesting to see what kind of leverage the team has in trade talks, but they should still find themselves in a pretty good position when they do make a move. The Knicks figure to get back in play here at some point.

Updating a previous report, the Minnesota Timberwolves had reportedly negotiated a deal that would bring Ricky Rubio to the US to play with the team next season, but Rubio backed out at the last minute and decided to stay in Spain for two more years, according to SI.com. Rubio told the Wolves that he felt like he needed more time before he was ready to join the NBA.

RotoTimes.com: Wolves' GM David Khan said that he understood Rubio's decision, but he and the team have to be disappointed. Khan made three separate trips to Spain to negotiate a buyout of Rubio's Spanish deal, and it looks like it was all for nothing. We won't be seeing Rubio until 2011 at the earliest.
