Newsbreakers
Huston Street, PThursday 7/29, 8:47 AM CT
Huston Street (abominal contusion) expects to be available to pitch today, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:It sounds like the comebacker he got hit with during practice that resulted in a hospital visit wasn't too serious after all. Look for him to come in during the ninth inning today if needed.
Aaron Cook, PWednesday 7/28, 11:07 PM CT
Aaron Cook look finished on Wednesday night, allowing six hits and five runs in just 2.1 innings of work in Colorado's 6-5 loss to the Pirates. He struck out two and walked one.

Our View:With Colorado now almost all but out of playoff contention, it makes no sense for them to keep running Cook out there while the electric young Jhoulys Chacin toils in the minors. If he isn't dealt before Saturday's trade deadline, Cook get could banished to the bullpen. Stay tuned.
Carlos Gonzalez, CFWednesday 7/28, 11:04 PM CT
Carlos Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with his 18th homer of the season in Colorado's 6-2 loss to the Pirates on Wednesday.

Our View:The bomb was his first since the All-Star break. He has just three RBI since the midsummer classic.
