Player News
July 29, 2010
Alex Gordon and Mitch Maier should play nearly every day in the Royals' outfield following the team's dealing of Scott Podsednik to the Dodgers, according to the Kansas City Star.

RotoTimes.com: Neither player has a whole lot of value right now, but you never know how it will affect a player when they no longer have to look over their shoulder every day. AL-only owners should think about snatching either of these two guys up.
July 28, 2010
With Scott Podsednik's trade to the Los Angeles Dodgers, Alex Gordon will most likely take over as the Royals' everyday left fielder.

RotoTimes.com: Although he's struggled, as usual, since his return from Triple-A Omaha, he's worth a flier in most formats if you are in desperate need of power. That being said, miracles cannot be expected from Kansas City's disappointing former number two overall draft pick.
July 23, 2010
Playing in his first major league game since May 1, Alex Gordon had a terrible night on Friday, going 0-for-4 with a strikeout, error and GIDP in Kansas City's 7-1 loss to the Yankees.

RotoTimes.com: This after scorched the ball during his entire stint at Triple-A Omaha. He's worth a look in all formats if you are in need of a third baseman, but a miracle, even a minor one, cannot be counted on.
July 23, 2010
As expected, the Royals have recalled Alex Gordon from the minors, according to the Kansas City Star.

RotoTimes.com: Gordon has hit .315 with 14 homers, 44 RBI and a 1.019 OPS over 68 games with Triple-A Omaha this season. He's moved full time from third base to the outfield, so he should gain eligibility there soon and be playing nearly every day with David DeJesus on the DL. While he's never seemed to figure out major league pitching, he's still very talented and is worth a look in mid-sized to deeper leagues based on upside alone.
July 23, 2010
With David DeJesus out anywhere between 2-to-6 weeks, the Royals plan to recall Alex Gordon from the minors today, according to ESPN's Buster Olney.

RotoTimes.com: It's time to see how Gordon's transition from third base to the outfield will go at the major league level. He has hit very well in the minors and is worth an add if you could use an extra third baseman or outfielder.
